Violet Peacock Freshwater Pearls are intricately wire-wrapped in copper, resulting in a lustrous black Pearl-like hue. I offer a variety of Freshwater Pearl colors, and custom orders are available upon request. Naturally formed Pearls differ greatly from those produced by man in that they are created inside mollusks--both in salt and freshwater--when foreign materials such as sand or small parasites enter and are surrounded by layers of pearly material. These overlapping layers give Pearls their signature iridescent shine, as well as unique irregularities in shape that add to their value. Pearls are gems and not crystals or stones.
